I got a tattoo of Casper the friendly ghost on my thigh. When I would slap it, he’d whisper the answers to my math test to me. If anyone else tried to slap it, Casper would say “not so friendly now, huh?” and then proceed to choke them.

Well… you got what you wanted. You are now a famous tattoo artist. People wait years to get inked by you. You got to make music, play on real stages, with real crowds. People know your name… To be honest, yeah it hurts. Why don’t you want me? Was I not enough? Then again, I am going to grow up, and one day we’ll meet again, and I will make you regret that decision with a burning passion. I will be the best goddamn daughter you never had, and it’ll be the biggest fuck you, you’ve ever received.

man, paying attention to who’s posting these makes a huge difference
I put this up before, but this is higher quality. Here are the three final screen prints I did for this Charles de Lint quote, I’m quite happy with how they turned out! Variations of this will be available as prints at my shop.

Things NOT to say to an art major/artists in general.
- You’re so lucky you don’t have to buy textbooks!
- You’re a really good drawer.
- Can you draw me?
- Did you draw that? (No, I’m just running my pencil over someone else’s drawing for fun)
- That’s so good, it looks traced!
- Did you trace that?
- Design my tattoo! (This is what tattoo artists are there for)
- Draw this thing for me!
- *pretty much expecting/demanding any art for free*
- I can’t even draw a straight line. (Neither can I. There are these things called “rulers”)
- Can you teach me to draw?
- Was that freehand?
- I wish I was born with artistic talent. (Saying things like this discredits all the effort we actually put in to developing our skills.)
- *TOUCHING THE ART*

- is that anime????
- you should work at Disney!
- “My cousin went to art school. They didn’t do anything with their degree.”
- “It’s so great that you’re following your dreams. I just chose my major so I could make money.”
- “Wow! I wish I could go to school and just draw all day.”
- Don’t touch/grab/open their sketchbooks without permission
- “Why do you do digital art? Traditional is real art.”
- “Oh yea! You’re in art school so you don’t have to worry about math, science, etc.”
- “Why are you not a doctor or engineer? You were eligible, yet you chose art? You could have made lots of money!”
Apparently “spite” is not an ‘appropriate answer’ to “What motivates you?”
Ok, so the tattoo artist I have been going to for all of my tats seriously does everything in his life out of spite. He became a tattoo artist because he was told it was stupid, he got married because his friends told him not to, he bought a house with a picket fence because he was told he wasn’t the kind of guy that would do that, and he had a kid because he was told he would be a crap father. He has a nice wife, an adorable little girl, a good house, and is an award winning tattoo artist.
Live your life in spite
things that should not define your worth:
- your weight or body frame
- your grades
- your height
- chest size
- the number of facebook friends or likes that you get
- the amount of notes or followers
- your waist or thigh size
- the amount of calories that you eat
- your mistakes
- your past
- the way people perceive you
- your economic status
- the clothes you wear
- number of people you’ve slept with
- number of times you’ve cried in public
- your physical strength
- your incapability
We’re just… two hurt souls.
We’re just two hurt souls, one in love with a boy who broke her and the other pining after boys she cant have. We’re just two hurt souls, one fighting depression and anxiety and so much crap while the other fights insecurities and stress and school. We’re just two hurt souls, one seeking for comfort in bottles of alcohol and weed because, damn, thats the only thing that makes it all go away, even if just for a little bit. The other seeks refuge in Pinterest and fanfiction and anything other than what she’s supposed to do because its all too much and, God, it sucks to be under so much pressure. We’re just two hurt souls, one spending days debating on whether she should get out of bed for homeschooling and the other prying her eyes open as they drift closed while the teacher drones on and on. We’re just two hurt souls, silently breaking and bleeding out, but who on Earth takes notice when the only ones who would are too wrapped up in themselves and have abandoned us, leaving us for dead. Who else in this world does a hurt soul have than a kindred spirit? We’re just two hurt souls, and I pray to God we’ll survive these stupid teen years together because I don’t want to live without you. And if he ever breaks you again, he’ll regret it with his entire being.
